The East side of 1st floor is fully furnished and occupied, cocluding renovation of all interior spaces. The Academic Health Center hosted a Grand Opening ceremony on January 16th. Dr. Frank Cerra, Dr. Gunda Georg and Dr. Jasjit Ahluwalia all offered remarks. Buildingwide tours followed.
November 2007
Furniture installation on 1st and 2nd floor is complete. Occupant moves were finalized during the last week of the month. All areas are now generally complete and occupied with exception of 1st floor east. Furnishings and occupancy of 1st floor east will wrap-up during January. Contractors will remain on-site through the end of the year finalizing miscellaneous work throughout the building.
October 2007
Furniture installation on 3rd floor is complete. Installation crews have migrated to 1st and 2nd floor to prepare for late November occupancy. All 3rd floor moves will take place during the first week of next month.
September 2007
Phase 2D construction is complete. Furniture installation for the entire 3rd floor is underway with scheduled completion by October 15th. Occupants moves will begin during the first part of November and conclude on November 29th.
August 2007
Phase 2C Furnishings installation is complete. The majority of departmental occupants have moved into their new space. Phase 2D construction, including entire 3rd floor and BSL3 lab, will be complete by the end of September. Furnishings installation will begin immediately following to allow occupancy by mid-October. Construction on 1st and 2nd floor continues with anticipated completion during November.
July 2007
Phase 2C construction is complete. Furniture installation has begun and will wrap-up during the first couple weeks of August. Occupant move-in dates have been finalized with the first department scheduled to occupy 5th west on August 15th.
June 2007
Phase 2C construction is nearing completion including fourth floor east and fifth floor west. With 2C conclusion, remodeling on 4th, 5th and 6th will be fully satisfied. Furniture and signage installation is scheduled to begin in late July following construction completion.
April 2007
The east side of the 5th floor is approaching completion. Labs are fully equipped with furniture, fixtures, and build-in medical equipment. Offices in this area are fully furnished and ready for occupancy. Final tuning should wrap-up before the middle of May, allowing users to begin research in this space during the latter part of the month.
February 2007
Phase 2 demolition is underway. Construction drawings are being finalized for 5th floor remodeling.
January 2007
Phase 1 construction is 100% complete. Occupants have moved into the finished portions on 4th and 6th floor and begun conducting research. Phase 2 design development document price verification completed by contractor. Construction updates to follow.
December 2006
Phase 1 construction wrapping up as occupants prepare to move into 4th floor offices and labs. Furniture installation is more than 95% complete. Phase 2 design development documents are being reviewed by University and Mortenson.
November 2006
Phase 1 construction nearing completion. Signage and furniture installtion progressing. Fume hoods and ventilation system comissioning scheduled, along with electrical main switch over to University system. All building systems on schedule for occupant move during early January. Phase 2 design development documents complete and distributed for University and Mortenson review.
September 2006
Phase One construction underway.
