Installation of the gasification system and associated electrical, ash conveyance system, ductwork and piping continues. All remaining boiler and gasification components, including polution control equipment, has been delivered to site.
March 2008
Crews began installing the gasification system and associated electrical, ash conveyance system, ductwork and piping. Interior painting is also underway.
February 2008
Wood siding is now complete. Interior sheetrock hung and ready for finishing.
On-site work has shifted from building construction to assembly and installation
of gasifier/boiler system.
January 2008
Crews completed installation of the vapor barrier and roofing membrane. The boiler was delivered and dropped into place inside structure. Wood siding work has begun and will continue into February.
December 2007
Steel structure is now complete; roof decking, exterior sheathing and vapor barrier, insulation and interior sheet rock has been installed. Electrical conduit is complete and wood siding has begun. The majority of the shop drawing submittals for the gasifier and boiler have been reviewed and
Keith/Wilkings was selected to provide fuel handling system (walking floor & side walls).
October 2007
Footings and concrete work for gasifier and boiler units are complete. Structural steel work is underway and should conclude during mid-November.
September 2007
Foundation footings and poured concrete walls for the overall facility are complete. Crews have begun pouring isolated concrete floors and footings for the gasifier and boiler units.
August 2007
The project site has been fully excavated. Foundation forming and reinforcement continues. Wall forming and pouring has begun in select locations.
July 2007
A ceremonial groundbreaking event was held on June 27th. Construction began on July 9th and is scheduled to continue through next summer, concluding sometime during Winter 2008.
May 2007
Schematic documents were approved during the May 2007 Board of Regents meeting. The project will proceed as scheduled with construction beginning June 2007, and concluding during the winter of 2008.
