Phase 4 construction, and Installation of the west entry structure are approaching completion. Construction of Smith 101 space is done. Demolition of Prof. Zhu's basement lab has commenced in rpeparation for necessary renovations. The freight elevator is now complete, permitting start of passenger elevator work.
February 2008
Phase four construction continues, including west entry portion. Construction in Smith 101 area is nearing completion, with finishes concluding before March. Furnishings for entire Phase four package arrive in mid March, with completed intallation anticipated by mid April.
October 2007
Phase three construction was completed on schedule, including furniture installation and occupancy moves. Phase four construction is underway focusing on demolition in the 'bridge' areas between Kothoff and Smith Hall.
September 2007
Phase three construction is well underway, focusing remodeling efforts on third floor and basement areas. Construction activity in these areas is scheduled to conclude on October 12th to allow subsequent installation of furnishings and equipment.
July 2007
Phase two construction is complete. Occupants have moved into remodeled offices, labs and support space. Phase Three construction is underway with projected completion by the end of October.
May 2007
Phase two construction is nearing completion. Furniture and equipment has been installed in all labs and support space. Faculty office installations are being finalized to allow occupancy during the month. Phase Three swing space moves are underway, with demolition planned to begin after all areas are cleared.
February 2007
Phase two demolition approximately 90% complete.
January 2007
Phase two construction documents issued for permit. Demolition associated with new phase is roughly 50% finished. Swing Space moves are complete.
December 2006
Phase two demolition is progressing. Construction documents under review, while swing space arrangements have been finalized for displaced occupants.
November 2006
Phase 1 construction complete and occupancy permit issued. Occupants have moved in and are functioning. Phase 2 Construction Documents completed for review. Phase 2 demolition beginning.
October 2006
Phase One construction continues. New basement and first floor lab and support space remodeling nearing completion (see October photos). Roof mounted exhasut fans and attenuators installed.
