The Medical Biosciences Building is an expansion to the existing Research Precinct which includes the Lions Research Building, the McGuire Translational Research Facility, and the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research. The Building’s proposed site is
immediately east of the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research and north of the new TCF Bank Stadium site in a zone identified in the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus Master Plan as an expanded research park. This new facility will provide medical research laboratories, offices, and conference space for principal investigators and their associated support staff.
The new Medical Biosciences Building will add approximately 105,435 gross square feet (gsf) of new clinical science research space. It will house interdisciplinary groups in close proximity to each other. The building will support immunology, neuroscience, cancer research, and infectious diseases.
